Fayek al-Nehlawi (center) was the long serving secretary-general of Parliament from 1943 to 1963. Rashad Jabri (right) was a Damascus MP and several time cabinet minister. Both of them were forcefully retired from politics after the Baath coup of March 1963. They were in Brazil in 1962 attending the Inter-Parliamentary Conference in Brasilia.
